The entire schedule and details can be found on the registration form.
Extreme Genes is a natural for Fisher, a Connecticut native, who has been in radio since his youth, and has spent three decades of spare time as a passionate “roots sleuth.” A long-time morning show host, Fisher is the author of “New York City Methodist Marriages, 1785-1893,” Picton Press, 1994. He has also been published in the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society Journal (April 2004), and Catholic Ancestor, Journal of the Catholic Family History Society of England (June 1996). His ten books on the families of both his and his wife’s ancestors, written over 30 years, fill the better part of a shelf in Fisher’s family room library. Fisher began Extreme Genes in July of 2013 on a single AM/FM station in Salt Lake City. Today the show is heard in dozens of markets across the country and is heard over 500,000 times a month. Fisher is also a national speaker on the subject of family history.
We hope to see you there!

A complete list of the probate files available at the NWMGS for Buchanan County is now available. This list was several years in the making. Each of the boxes of files were gone through, one at a time, and our old index was updated. That process alone took almost 5 years. Then we began the task of retyping the entire list and adding all the new names we ran across, and verifying the spelling of many others. At last we have a finished product to be proud of - with over 43,000 names!! If you would like to take a peek at the contents of any one of these files, email us: firstname.lastname@example.org The file is 2.78MB so it may take a minute to load . . . be patient. Remember to check all possible spellings!

State Hospital #2
The NWMGS receives many questions about the State Hospital #2, as there were literally thousands of people who passed through her doors as either patients or employees. We are happy to offer assistance to those researching in this particular area. There is a process by which some records can be obtained, and a wonderful booklet about the hospital itself, which was produced by the St. Joseph Museums, Inc. The booklet is an easy read, 24 pages, soft cover and just $8. You can pick one up at the NWMGS library during any of our open hours. Not in the immediate area? We'll be happy to mail one to you ~ just include an extra $1 for shipping & handling.
